My friend Amy G. and I bartered — I hemmed three pairs of pants for her, and she helped me make my paper tape dress form. She’s a former architect, among other things, and I knew her attention to detail would make her a great helper for this project. I’m so glad I was able to do something for her in return.
It took us about four hours. I’d already cut all the paper tape into strips, so that saved a little time. We referred a little bit to these three sites. After Amy cut me out and returned home, I taped up the cut and layered more tape inside the form.
Here’s the result, dressed in a favorite new shirt from the thrift store.

Wow, that’s so clever!
